The "IS" just stands for "image stabilization." I did notice that the SX20 doesn't support manual loading. I believe the problem was because the FAT16 format only worked on smaller SD cards. I've installed CHDK on 4gb cards with mixed results. He was taking pictures at shutter speeds that weren't supposed to exist on his model :P Anyway, after reading your tutorial, it is all so much easier than I had anticipated, and now I'm really eager to try it myself!
